Brigadier Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri the hero of 1971 battle of Longewala against Pakistan,breathed his last on Saturday morning 0n 17th November 2018 at the age of 78 in Mohali.. He was the soldier whose role was played by Sunny Deol in the 1997 blockbuster, movie, 'Border '. In the movie, Sunny Deol played a brave soldier who fought the Pakistani army exactly the Brigadier Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri did in 1971.MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.
He was the Military veteran who was the recipient of country's second highest gallantry award Mahavira Chakra.
He was elected as Councillor in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation from 2006 to 2011.
