Alyque Padamsee

Alyque Padammsee was an Indian theater personality and ad film maker. He was famous for his role of Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Oscar winner film "Gandhi "by Sir Richard Attenborough.

Inspite of  actor and producer in Indian theater he was an professional and once headed the advertising company Lintas India .He died on 17th November 2018. in Mumbai at the age of 90. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Widely called the "Brand Father of Indian advertising", Alyque Padamsee was the brain behind several iconic Indian ad campaigns including Lalitaji for Surf, the Liril girl, Cherry Charlie for Cherry Blossom Shoe Polish, Hamara Bajaj, the MRF muscle man, and KamSutra among many other memorable ads.

For his contributions to the creative field, he was awarded  with Padmashri by Goverment of India in 2000 and was named "Advertising Man of the Century" by The Advertising Club in Mumbai. He also received the Sangeet Natak Academy, Tagore Ratna award in 2012.

His theater production like Jesus Christ Superstar , Tughlug and Evita put him on the top of world of Theater community.He stared his career at the age of seven with Merchant of Venice and his remarkable entry in English theater with Taming of the Shrew.
